With Jamshed breaking his hand things were set in motion for this move. Being medically down and not able to fly, he had to be moved out of a flying unit. We were hoping that we would not be shifted before the six month review was held, but it was to be otherwise. Now we are packing our bags to leave for Gorakhpur as a ground tenure.
Many people have been asking me how I’ve taken the news. Quite frankly, it makes no difference where we go, just as long as there is a house for us to live in and a school for Rehaan to study. On both counts Gorakhpur obliges. The people make the place and I’ll only be able to report on them once I meet them. I’m sure we will have just as good a time there as we did in Agra.
At present i’m packing up my home and wondering how we have accumulated so much stuff in such a short time. I have even had to buy two new boxes to accommodate all the stuff and I’m still not done. The kitchen, the bedroom and of course Rehaan’s toys still remain to be packed. I have managed to wrap up just about every thing else. The big gadgets like the AC, Washing machine and Fridge will as it is be used till the last day, so no point counting them here.
Thanks are due to W/C Kaul for providing me with the number of the handy men who are helping me pack. While not quite professionals, with a minimal level of supervision they are doing a decent job. In fact one of them has even agreed to accompany the truck and supervise the unloading there. (A job that was so far handled by guys from Daddy’s regiment, but Dad retired last year. So we bid farewell to such perks)
So now that I am almost through packing and on my farewells I’m feeling a bit nostalgic. I have not been in Agra very long, just two years and one month to be precise. Yet a lot of important events did happen here. Rehaan gave up his milk bottle and graduated to cups. He started schooling in Blue Bells. Jamshed went back to flying after a three year gap. Then the VIP Cottage and Mess sagas came into being. I started working online. That was a biggie.
After hunting for something that I could do from home, I finally found the idea solution. Freelancing for writing projects from home. While I will not be paying taxes anytime soon, I am making some pocket money. As of now everything is on a standstill, as I am packing. So a couple of projects are on hold till I shift to Gorakhpur and settle in there. All in all Agra has been kind to all three of us.
Jamshed might disagree, he broke his hand here and that was not kind at all. Yet I feel we are leaving behind something good. I hope to find something even better waiting for us at the other end. If I don’t get around to updating the blog too much over the next few months, you will know I’m busy in the new station and trying to find my feet. Will send you detailed updates when I can. Bye for now.

I am going to miss you something awful Cash. You were the one person here i could identify with fully, who was smart, intelligent, had the same values as me and who I could talk with about anything and expect to be understood; even with my penchant for using show-off words. No one in Agra can hope to replicate that for sure.
Wait a minute you’re still here. For a few days, so maybe I’ll just drop in and say HI!
