Improve Spoken English Online

There is a lot of emphasis on the spoken word today and many people are keen to improve their Spoken English. There is a large number of people who mail me after reading my ezine articles on Tips to Improve Spoken English or my Bukisa articles.

The truth is that to improve your Spoken English, you need to practice your speech. While the ten tips to improve your Spoken English will result in an improved vocabulary and fluency in the language, you will still need to speak the language on a regular basis.

Plus even if you do speak on a regular basis you need some one to catch your mistakes in grammar and accent as you speak. This is not going to be possible for a friend who is roughly at the same state you are in. You will need to speak with some one who is good at the language.

There are many free online Spoken English courses that you can do. They provide you with audio tracks that you can listen to and text that you can read. They have assignments that you must do and will help you improve your confidence level greatly.

However even these courses are not able to get you to speak the language without an accent. They do not have teachers who will sit with each individual student to mentor them in Spoken English. So if you really wish to know how to improve your Spoken English you need a Spoken English Teacher.

If you are truly interested in hiring the services of an online Spoken English Teacher, feel free to check out this person.

  3. From how you write Sathish I feel that you only need to brush up on your spoken English skills. So you should practice your language skills by conversing with others who speak English fluently. I am sure there must be some one in your friend circle who speaks well and would be willing to spend an hour daily talking with you.

    Hai,

My name is Sneha, actually i need to improve my spoken english. I had gone through your article and i love to read more blogs. can you help me to improve my english.

Do you have any more tips to improve.

  11. Hi Sneha,

Another useful tip for improving your spoken English would be to always explain new English words using English. If you have a dictionary and learn new words regularly, you might be doing what everyone usually does – write the word and then put down the translation in your native language.

It has a detrimental effect on your actual spoken English because you’re used to translating from your own language when memorizing the word! Therefore you should get into habit of explaining new words and phrases using other, simpler English words. A very good tool for this is thesaurus – http://thesaurus.com.

Translating from our native language is also the reason behind inability to use most of our vocabulary in live speech. So if you implement just this one tip in your English learning routine, it will have a far reaching impact on your spoken English!

You can also watch a short video where I’m explaining the above in more detail: http://englishharmony.com/blog/dont-translate-directly-when-speaking-english

    Best Regards,

    Robby :-)
