New Beginnings – that’s truly what life is all about. As each chapter of your life ends your life gets renewed in another chapter. That is literally what it is for my mom. My mother has made a radical shift in her life from being a Research Fellow pursuing her Phd at NERI to becoming an Army Wife and now an Owner of an Interior Decorating Firm.
An artist, she always was. Now she has finally come into her own and started this new company with a couple of friends. All of them are Forces Wives and have been shifting base with their husbands for more that 20 years each. Make that 30 years, in my mother’s case.
There was no stability to set up shop anywhere for their talent. The paintings, murals, foil work, arts and craft that they made usually ended up being appreciated by all close friends who saw them. Usually gifting away their original work and being happy with an occassional order for a painting was their way of life.
Then they met up and the three of them got organized. They formed a company called GENESIS and struck out on their own. As of now they are still finding their feet and hope to get more work. The two exhibitions that they have held have been moderate successes, giving them more motivation.

This is an idea I have been working on for a while now. Lets hope it translates well. I have a number of artist friends and family who are not too net savvy (Hey they are artists not programmers) and have wonderful talent that needs to be showcased online. What I propose to do is to feature a new painting each week by any artist who wishes to be featured.
Naturally am going to start with my mother’s work. So convenient to have an Artist in the Home. If you know some one who is an artist send me photo of their work and I will feature it on the site. Here’s a list of posts already on the blog

I have not studied much about your blogs or you, I just started reading all your articles, blogs and inspiring facts a day before, which gave me an impression about you as “Your are people’s person”, I really like the way how you do it. I respect your thoughts for showcasing all the great work done by the artists; I will definitely take some time out to look into all the painting which is displayed online. Once again I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
